Morning Star Patchouli Japanese Incense - powerful and evocative.
Patchouli is a species of herb from the mint family known scientifically as Pogostemon cablin, a native of tropical Asia. A strong fragrance that is more woody than herbal.
It has been valued since ancient times; with the Egyptian
pharaoh Tutankhamun being laid to rest with approx. 40
litres of patchouli oil – as discovered upon his tomb opening by Howard Carter in November 1922.
Karen @ Vectis Karma says "Poor memories initially put me off any Patchouli fragrance, but Nippon Kodo
have produced a fine version here. I find this earthy, woody and green; all in equal quantities. As one of Morning Star’s pure
scents this is another surprisingly complex one.”
Morning Star Patchouli incense features the following:
-
pure scent, no bamboo core
- delivers very little smoke
- each stick burns approximately for 25 minutes
- approx. length: 120mm long (4.75 inches)
- Box contains 200 sticks & a small incense holder
